Ensure all documents are included (PhD students can request a confirmation letter from FGR)
Make sure your application is complete before submitting, as incomplete applications can cause delays and may be declined.
Processing time: Around 80% of applications are completed within 4 weeks.
Fees: NZD$850 total (includes NZD $100 International Visitor Levy).
Internships: if your programme requires a compulsory internship, you can apply for a student visa with full-time work rights, using a confirmation letter from your faculty.
Interim visa: If you submit a new student visa application and your current visa expires before the new one is approved, INZ will issue an interim visa automatically.
- Valid up to 6 months, or until your new visa is decided.
- Allows you to stay in NZ and continue your studies.
