What does this mean?

Communication with students is meaningful, accessible, and delivered using consistent tools and methods. When applicable, students are informed of important course announcements in multiple ways through face to face and digital tools.

4.1	Announcements are used to communicate with students in a timely manner when required.	Students are kept regularly informed as they progress through the course.
4.2	Students are informed of appropriate times and methods for contacting teaching and support staff. Methods are accessible to both on-campus and online students, if applicable.	Students are aware of, and can contact, support for the course when required, from any location. Students have equitable access to office hours / drop-in or support where applicable.
4.5	Students have access to support pathways to answer course specific queries.	An FAQ, discussion board or point of contact information is provided online for students to access course level support.

Office hour or drop-in sessions are visible through Nuku for both on-campus and online students, if applicable.	Students are aware of, and can contact, support for the course when required, from any location. Students have equitable access to office hours / drop-in or support where applicable.
4.3	Students can subscribe or are updated when they need to respond to discussion forums, or when new content or learning activities are added to the course.	Students are notified and receive email notifications (if they opt in) when someone responds to their post, or when new content / activities are available to them.
4.4	Guidelines on expectations around how students will contribute and conduct themselves online are provided.	Students are aware of the required online behaviour and expectations in the use of online tools within the course.
4.5	Students have access to FAQs or support pathways for course focused queries to be answered. Information about these can be easily found by students.	An FAQ, discussion board or point of contact information is provided online for students to access course level support.
4.6	Methods and appropriate times throughout the course are specified where feedback is sought from students about online content, teaching design, and digital tools in use.	During the course academic and support staff have evidence-based opportunities to modify content and methods to improve student learning success.
