Use interactions and data to support student success

What does this mean?

Students are provided with content, activities and feedback that allow them to understand their progression and success in any course. Academic and support staff understand engagement within courses and can identify lack of engagement or the requirement for student intervention when needed at the right time.

5.1	Student access to Nuku courses and content is recorded to support holistic student advising and individual course support for students. This is automated in Nuku.	Academics, support staff and individual students are aware of student use of content and resources within the course.
5.3	Grades, student progress and formative activities are captured and entered in the Nuku course gradebook.	Students and teaching teams have an up-to-date record of progression, provisional grades and required grades to successfully complete course.
5.4	When video is created for the course, VStream is used to deliver this content to ensure videos are accessible, able to be used to enhance study, and student engagement is captured.	Academic and support staff are aware of student use and interaction within video content.
5.5	All content in Nuku must be copyright or license compliant. Course readings sourced from print material must be in Talis.	Students have an engaging, consistent and equitable reading list experience across courses. Links to resources work. The University can meet our copyright and license compliance obligations, including reporting on usage of copied print material.
5.7	All courses expected to include a student activity in Nuku with a deadline for completion within the first 1-2 weeks of the course.	This can be of any type that generates a Nuku record of student activity including a requirement to watch a video, complete a poll, make a discussion post, or submit a formative (ungraded or automatically graded) assessment item. The activity does not have to be graded, but will be more effective if designed as part of the pedagogical structure of the course. The University can then use this information to ensure barriers to engagement are addressed in a timely manner.
