Log in to our online tools

You will need a username and password to log in to all online University systems, including the tools covered in this course.

Before you were able to register in this course, you would have set up a password using our password setting tool. This is the password you will use to log in to all of the tools covered in this course.

You can reset your password at any time using the password setting tool.

Student username

Your username can be found on your Confirmation of Study, which will have been sent to the email address you used to submit your application to study with us.

It is the first six characters of your last name and the first four characters of your first name (e.g. smithjohn), some usernames may also include a number if the username already exists.

Your email address will be in the format: username@myvuw.ac.nz - we will cover a bit more about your student email account in the Office 365 module of this course.

Pūaha account

To apply for admission to your programme of study, you would have signed up for an account in our student portal - Pūaha using your email or social account.

Now that you are fully enrolled at Te Herenga Waka, you will need to log in to Pūaha using your University student account, i.e. your student email address and password.

When you log in to Pūaha using your University student account, you will be able to access more features of the portal than you previously had access to while completing your application. You'll get a chance to explore these new features in the Pūaha module of this course.

PhD candidates

If you are currently studying towards a PhD, please note that you may need to use an incognito/private browsing window to access Pūaha. This is to avoid the University's single sign on system trying to log you in with your staff credentials. You'll need to sign in to Pūaha using your student (@myvuw) account.
